A supermoon is a full moon that appears around 14 percent larger and about 30 percent brighter than usual full moon. This event happens when the moon orbits the closest to our planet while on its full phase.

By definition, a blue moon, on the other hand, is the second full moon in a calendar month. A blue moon appears bluish because of the smoke or dust particles in the atmosphere. While a blood moon is a rare phenomenon when the moon in total eclipse appears reddish in color because it is illuminated by the sunlight filtered and refracted by the earth’s atmosphere.

When will the next blood moon lunar eclipse take place? According to Space.com, the super blue blood moon will not take place until Jan. 31, 2037. That is 19 years away. It is a long wait but it is definitely much better that another 150-year wait.
