1. Zoom in
Zooming in for a better photo needs only the world’s best zoom lens, your own two feet.  Yes, you don’t need prime lenses  or top telephoto zooms to get a better picture. Moving closer to your kids when taking photos reduces declines in image quality that happens in long-range shots.  Try staying within 20 feet from your subject for best results.

2. Flash it on
Forget everything that you’ve read about the technicalities in using a flash. Just simply turn the flash on when taking outdoor shots and turn it on when taking indoor shots to make up for the lack of light.  Using the flash outdoors adds shadows on faces and removes background silhouettes. Indoor shots without flash, on the other hand, make your shots rely more on natural light, thus, minimizing the mug-shot effect.

3. Pan and make it perfect
Toddlers are very hyperkinetic and taking photos of them while running or playing outdoors can be a real pain in the neck.  To freeze children in focus against a blurred background, simply move the camera left to right the take the shot! If you follow your subject, the subject will be clear and the background will be a blur.

4. Shoot ‘em all!
Stop constantly checking your shots on-screen. Save the gallery for later. Focus on your shots. even professional photographers wait fro a dozen shots  to capture a one-in-a-million photo that is worth keeping. In smart phones, you can take a bunch of photos at once then you can select the best shots. Try the iPhone Burst Mode, Samsung Burst Mode, or Xperia Z Burst Mode.

5. Swap that perspective
Most parents eager to take a shot try to capture a spontaneous moment by eagerly shooting downward. To take better shots that better reflect your kid’s height and perspective, crouch low and snap at their eye level. Take a picture from the same level as your kid. We guarantee you will get better results because when you take picture from the child’s eye level, you will be able to capture your child’s facial expression better.
