Don’t be lazy, check your email.
Some people don’t check their email until after lunch. This work ethic is for the lazy, slacker, loafer, and the couch potatoes. Start your day in a proactive manner by checking new information from your email. By doing so, you can be certain that you will not be missing out on important things to know.
Don’t dish too often - save the chit-chat for later.
You have got work to do, so save the chit-chat for later. While you may be tempted to know who’s dating who or you might be interested to find out the gory details of your boss’ infidelity with no other than his secretary or you just probably want to find out how your colleague is doing after he started binge-drinking to drown whatever dilemma he is going through right now - hold it for later.
There are consequences in taking part in office gossip. It contaminates the workplace. Before you know it, you have become the person who spreads the gossip and preserved the cruel series of rumour mongering.
Use “Do Not Disturb”on your office or cubicle.
If you have important matters to finish, hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign on your office. By doing so, you will have all the time for yourself to take care of the things that you need to accomplish. Your friends and colleagues who always want to come by your office or cubicle should not mind at all.
These are just simple tips that you can do to help you become more productive in the office. Try them out. In no time, you will feel less stressed with your work. In fact, you will be surprised to notice that you feel even more excited to go to your desk.
